30-year-old male call center agent was arrested at about 10:40 a.m. in Mabalacat town yesterday after witnesses identified him as suspect in the beheading of his 22-yearold girlfriend, also a call center agent working in the same company, at a room in Miyabe Court motel in Barangay Pulung Maragul here last Saturday. City information officer Deo Sambilay cited police reports identifying the suspect as Adonis Reyes and his headless victim as Katrina Gantan who was identified by her family at Funenaria Pangilinan here. Police said Reyes was the boyfriend of Gantan who both worked as call center agent at Sutherland at Clark Freeport. Reyes was arrested in front of a food chain restaurant at about 10:40 a.m. in Barangay Dau in Mabalacat but had reportedly refused to give any statement to police probers. Gantan’s head was still missing as of yesterday afternoon. Sambilay said Reyes was positively identified by a tricycle driver who said the suspect had boarded his tricycle from the motel and that the suspect carried with him a black plastic bag which seemed to contain a solid object. But Reyes was initially identified by the motel bellboy from a sketch done by the police based on his own description. Relatives later noted that the sketch had features similar to Gantan’s boyfriend. The bellboy found Gantan’s headless body in the toilet of Room 218 after he noticed that the victim never left after her male companion had gone past their 24-hour time duration of their stay. The police corrected earlier reports that Katrina Gantan entered the motel with two male companions as they cited the bellboy as saying that the victim had only one male companion
